“The Limit” was a school exercise for Mate Steinforth’s (guest lecturer from Sehsucht, Berlin) Hybridfilm class at BTK-FH.
The assignment was to make a video for a part of James Blake’s song “Limit to your Love” and should include typography of the song’s lyrics which should be tracked into real footage.
We decided to symbolize the “Limit” with the fence, which holds back “Love” from freedom. Once we found the location and shot the footage with a self-built dolly we tracked it in Boujou, built 3D geometry in Cinema 4D and simulated the fluid in Realflow.
Story, Animation & Direction: Remo Gambacciani & Laura Brundrett
Music: James Blake – Limit to your love

• Rendered out in C4D (720p/250f – added Ambient Occlusion and Object Motionblur)
